Mascara Poem

Title: Mascara Poem

She's dyeing this time,
And draws the lines
Around her eyes.

Her hair's different,
A new color;
And new makeup.

She changes her look
To hide from it
And sneak away.

Hoping all this pain
Won't recognize
Her anymore.

As she stops to think
What she became;
"How can it be?"

What she used to be
Was better then -
With bigger dreams.

After it's all lost
She tries so hard
To get it back;

But it's just so hard,
And nothing works -
Not even this!

She's drawing more lines,
This is her voice -
Letters and words.

Expressing it all,
Writing it down
For all to read

Not even these words
Say it as well
As those black spots

When the mascara
Runs down her face
Onto this page.

She posts it online,
Medievalluck,
And hides this pain.
